2009 NCS 14 & Under Championships

The 2009 North Carolina Swimming Long Course 14 & Under Championships were held July 16-19, 2009 in Cary, NC.  Congratulations to Sophia Cherkez, Lauren Ferner, Ian Petty, Marinela Procopii, Cory Spencer, Marissa Taylor, Maria Turcanu, Sava Turcanu, Michael Vezmar, and Emma Weisgerber for a successful meet.  Sava Turcanu led the way with 5 State titles, 7 Team records, and 1 Meet record.  Top 16 finishes were as follows.  Lauren Ferner (10th - 50 Back), Cory Spencer (14th - 50 Breast, 9th - 100 Breast), Maria Turcanu (3rd - 400 Free, 3rd - 200 Free, 4th - 50 Breast, 4th - 100 Breast, 7th - 100 Free, 11th - 200 IM), and Sava Turcanu (1st - 800 Free, 1st - 200 Free, 1st - 100 Fly, 1st - 400 IM, 1st - 200 Fly, 2nd - 400 Free, 3rd - 200 IM, 9th - 100 Free).  The Long Course team records have been updated.  Full Results from the meet can be found on the Meet Schedule page.
