Brian Aberle, Faith Hefner, Sam Melnyk, Emmaline Peterson, Marinela Procopii, Maly Shores, Marissa Taylor, Maria Turcanu, and Emma Weisgerber represtented YSST at the 2014 YMCA Long Course National Championships in Indianapolis, IN from July 28th through August 1st. Congratulations to the YSST North Carolina Swimming 14 & under Championship team of Sean Aberle, John Cherkez, Sophia Cherkez, Ross Dant, Anna Durak, Faith Hefner, Ruth Hullette, Stephan Procopii, and Nina Turcanu. They finished 10th overall at the meet. There were 66 teams in attendance. Congratulations to ALL YSST swimmers for a successful 2014 Long Course Season. The season ending break will be the weeks of July 28th, August 4th, and August 11th. There will be no practice for any group during those three weeks. ENJOY YOUR BREAK!!! When we resume practices on August 18th, we will be on the normal Short Course afternoon schedule. Drew Hitchcock broke two team records at the 8th Annual Bob Pratt Invitational. He set new standards in the 8 & under boys 50 and 100 meter butterfly events. The previous record for the 50 Fly was set in 1977, and the 100 fly record was set in 1993. The team records have been updated. Congrats Drew!!!!
