The Long Course meet schedule has been posted on the Meet Schedule page. There may be some additions to the schedule.
North Carolina Swimming has posted a Top Ten list for all events 11 and over for the 2007-2008 Short Course season. Swimmers are ranked by single age group. YSST had 39 times make the list with 7 as #1 rankings. Congratulations to Miriam McDonald, Danny Aberle, Nicholas Lee, Katherine Glenn, Graham Williams, and Sava Turcanu for achieving top ten swims in the state. The Short Course Yards team records have been updated. At the 2008 YMCA SC National Championships, Graham Williams broke his own team records in the 13-14 and Open 500 and 1000 Free. He also broke the team record in the 13-14 and Open 1650 Free. That brings the total to 18 team records this season by 5 different athletes.
Sava Turcanu's 100 yard Butterfly swim at the Capital Classic in December broke the national record for YMCA swimming in the 11-12 age group. Congratulations Sava!
Results from the 2008 Upper SE Regional YMCA Championships have been posted on the Meet Schedule page. YSST finished 9th out of 46 teams from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The Short Course Yards team records have been updated. At the 2008 Upper SE Regional YMCA Championships, Graham Williams broke his own team records in the 13-14 and Open 1000 Free posting a 9:51.40. Cory Spencer broke his own team record in the 9-10 100 Breast posting a 1:21.64, and Sophia Cherkez broke the team record in the 8 & Under 100 Back posting a 1:25.30. That brings the total to 17 team records this season by 5 different athletes.
