YSST had a great weekend in Charlotte at the North Carolina Swimming 14 & Under Long Course State Championships! The team finished 13th overall and 2nd in the medium team category. There are 60 teams in the state. 10 team records were broken at the meet (Alex Ballard - 7, Marinela Procopii - 2, and Sophia Cherkez - 1). Marinela qualified for 6 new events for Y Nationals and Jake Pierce also picked up an additional cut for Y Nats.

Alex Ballard and Sophia Cherkez set new YSST team records at the 2010 Upper Southeast Regional YMCA Long Course Championships. Sophia set a new standard in the 10 & U girls 400 meter freestyle. Alex set new standards in the 10 & U 50, 100, 200, and 400 meter freestyle events. Congratulations to both for their accomplishments!!

Graham Williams and Sava Turcanu have been selected for the YMCA National Altitude Camp. The camp will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs on August 15-21. 40 participants were selected from the across the country. This is a great opportunity for training and testing at the OTC. Congratulations to both Graham and Sava!!!!
