The North Carolina Swimming annual awards banquet was held on Sunday, April 25th in Charlotte, NC. YSST had four athletes recognized. Congratulations to Emmaline Peterson, Maria Turcanu, Graham Williams, and Sava Turcanu for their accomplishments. All four were awarded for Top Five performances in North Carolina. Graham and Sava were also recognized as North Carolina Swimming All-Stars and National Top Ten rankings for USA Swimming. Graham was also honored for setting two new state records. The final Top Ten list for the 2009-2010 Short Course Season for North Carolina Swimming has been posted. YSST had 30 individual swims and 2 relays make the list. Congratulations to Emma Weisgerber, Maria Turcanu, Cory Spencer, Sava Turcanu, and Graham Williams for their individual performances. Also congratulations to Lauren Ferner, Maly Shores, Sophia Cherkez, and Emmaline Peterson for their relay performances. The YSST Men finished 15th at the YMCA National Championships held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 7-10, 2010. There were over 230 teams and 1500 athletes at the meet. YSST broke five team records and two North Carolina state records at the meet. The team of Graham Williams, Sava Turcanu, Jake Pierce, and Joseph Lackey had a great week in Florida.
