Congratulations to Alex Ballard, Sophia Cherkez, Maria Turcanu, and Emma Weisgerber for qualifying for the North Carolina Swimming IMX Camp to be held at the new Greensboro Aquatic Center on Jan 21-22. This camp is for the top 20 IM Extreme performers in North Carolina Swimming for the 11, 12, and 13 year old age groups from the Long Course Season. The YSST 2011 Long Course Awards Banquet was held on Sunday, September 18th at the CO Miller Center. Highlights are listed below. - First YMCA National Record Holder - First time YSST has placed two athletes on the North Carolina Swimming Zone Team - First time the entire Senior group has attended YMCA Nationals - First time a member of the Gold group has qualified for YMCA Nationals - YSST has set 4 North Carolina Swimming State records in 4 years by 3 different athletes - 22 Team Records...

TEAM LOCK-IN THIS FRIDAY AUGUST 19TH This Friday is the 4th annual team lock-in at the CO Miller Teen Center. 7:00 p.m Friday, pick up is 8:00 a.m. Saturday. Siblings are welcome until 11:00 p.m. Bring your sleeping bag and running shoes! This year features structured group competition and team building games, so come prepared to bond with your teammates and try new stuff! $5.00 per person covers late-night pizza, drinks, and PiGgY SuNdAes.

The end of a very successful 2011 Long Course Season is fastly approaching. YSST has 10 athletes going to Atlanta next week for YMCA Nationals, and 2 athletes representing NCS at Zones in Cary. The last practice for ALL groups will be Thursday, July 28th. There will be NO practice for ALL groups the first two weeks of August. Practices will resume on Monday, August 15th on the normal Short Course schedule.
